Actor Sreeleela is expanding her portfolio in Tamil cinema by joining the cast of Dharman, headlined by superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, who is known for Oh My Kadavule and Dragon. The official casting announcement was released by Kamal Haasan's production banner, Raaj Kamal Films International, marking Sreeleela's maiden cinematic collaboration with the veteran actor.
To welcome the actor to the venture, the production studio published a promotional video clip highlighting her involvement. The expansive cast features notable names such as Simran, Nayanthara, Yogi Babu, and Raashii Khanna. Dharman also represents the first time director Ashwath Marimuthu has helm a project starring Rajinikanth.
Promotional materials, including the initial poster, indicate that Rajinikanth portrays a medical professional whose character description evokes his iconic role from the 1978 movie Mullum Malarum, featuring hints of grey shades and bloodstained hands. Having wrapped its third filming schedule in September, the production is reportedly nearing the concluding phases of principal photography with the addition of actors like Sreeleela and Nayanthara.
Sreeleela expanded into Tamil cinema earlier this year with Parasakthi alongside Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Atharvaa, followed by upcoming commitments such as Om with Dhanush and Mammootty, and Daredevil with Ajith Kumar. Dharman is being bankrolled by Raaj Kamal Films International alongside R Mahendran of Turmeric Media.
The technical crew boasts music composer Anirudh Ravichander continuing his partnership with Rajinikanth, alongside cinematographer Niketh Bommi, stunt direction team Anbariv, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and production designer Karthik Rajkumar. While an official theatrical release date remains unannounced, industry reports indicate the team is targeting an April 2027 premiere.
