Riyadh: A second Indian national who suffered critical injuries during the October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has passed away, the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
Expressing deep sorrow in a statement shared on social media, the embassy confirmed that the victim succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. Officials stated that representatives have stayed close to the family throughout the ordeal and continue to provide support during this difficult time, offering sincere condolences to his loved ones and friends.
The embassy further indicated that it is coordinating with the family to fulfill their wishes, whether that involves repatriating the mortal remains to India or organizing a funeral service in Riyadh.
The October 10 strike resulted in multiple casualties and injuries. The first Indian fatality was identified as Mohammed Yousuf Ali, whose funeral took place in Riyadh on October 12. Subsequent updates from the Indian Embassy on October 23 noted that two injured Indian citizens remained under intensive care, two were recovering in general hospital wards, and seven others had already been discharged.
Saudi authorities attributed the assault to Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi movement, though the group did not formally claim responsibility. Official figures from Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation initially recorded 12 deaths and 309 injuries. With the subsequent passing of the first Indian national and this latest tragedy, the total death toll from the airport attack has risen to 14.
