(Photos: Nitu/X) A woman posing as a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) found herself facing a sharp interrogation after a passenger questioned her credentials on a train travelling from Maharashtra to Bihar.

She had reportedly been waking passengers at around 2 am to check their tickets, but her attempt to issue one on a blank sheet of paper raised suspicions. The incident was shared by an X user named Nitu, who posted photographs of the woman along with an account of what happened inside the train.“On a train travelling from Maharashtra to Bihar, around 2 am, a woman suddenly started waking up passengers and checking their tickets,” Nitu wrote, adding, “She was demanding tickets from people by claiming to be a TTE.” The woman reportedly approached a passenger who did not have a ticket and another who hesitated to show his. What followed, however, only made the situation more suspicious.“The woman immediately said that his ticket would need to be issued,” Nitu wrote. “After that, she pulled out a blank sheet of paper from her bag and started writing on it after asking the passenger for his name.” Another passenger noticed that the woman was not wearing a TTE uniform and asked her to show her identity card. “He promptly asked her to show her ID card,” the post said. But she allegedly refused to produce it, telling the passenger that she would show her identity card to an official instead.

The response did little to settle his doubts, and he continued questioning how a ticket examiner could be checking tickets in the middle of the night without a uniform or identification.“As the questions mounted, the woman started to get nervous and tried to slip away from there,” Nitu wrote. When the passenger attempted to stop her, the woman allegedly accused him of harassment instead. “Seeing the situation escalate, the woman slowly slipped away from the spot and later vanished into the crowd wearing a mask,” the post added.See the post here:The incident prompted questions about how the woman was able to approach passengers and check tickets without being challenged by railway staff. Nitu also questioned whether she had been collecting money from passengers under the guise of issuing tickets. The Railways responded to the post, saying, “Related officials are being informed.”It remains unclear whether the woman collected money from passengers or whether officials have identified her.- Ends
