Unnatural death of fishing community member and two other cases handed over to CID

The State government has handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) the investigation into the unnatural death of a 48-year-old member of the fishing community and two related cases.

The police seized a note purportedly written by Putran and registered a case of unnatural death.Putran’s wife filed a complaint accusing the couple of abetting her husband’s suicide.Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said all three cases have been transferred to the CID.The Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Samyukta Mahasabha on Monday demanded action against the couple accused of abetting Putran’s suicide. The organisation sought an investigation either by the CID or by a team of police officers under the supervision of a retired or serving District Judge.
