The Supreme Court has disposed of petitions alleging the theft of donations intended for Ayodhya's Ram Mandir, following confirmation from the Uttar Pradesh government that a charge sheet has been filed in the case. A bench led by the Chief Justice directed the local magistrate to move forward in accordance with the law.
Recognizing the significant public interest surrounding the case, the apex court permitted the petitioners to assist the trial court during the criminal proceedings, adopting a procedure similar to how victims are allowed to participate in criminal trials.
During the proceedings, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the bench that investigators successfully established a financial trail. He noted that the Special Investigation Team's probe detailed how the accused individuals allegedly misappropriated the donated funds and subsequently invested them into properties.
