Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Monday challenged BJP chief Nitin Nabin's claim that three crore infiltrators were among the names deleted from electoral rolls.Chidambaram posed five questions to Nabin, asking who the alleged infiltrators were and whether the central and state governments had identified them. His remarks came amid the row over alleged "vote chori", or vote theft.Rejecting the opposition's claim that 13 crore names had been removed, Nabin had said, "Rahul Gandhi, our party workers can give you an account of every vote, from street to Parliament."According to news agency PTI, Nabin said 2.5 crore of the deleted voters had died, while six crore had moved to another place. "Three crore are 'ghuspaithiya' (infiltrators).

People know they are fighting to save these 'ghuspaithiyas'. Till BJP and NDA workers are there, we will drive out these 'ghuspaithiyas' from the country," the BJP chief had said.Responding to the claim, Chidambaram asked Nabin who the three crore infiltrators mentioned by him on Sunday were and whether the central and state governments had identified them. "You said the people of Haryana know who the infiltrators are.

If the people know, the government of Haryana must also know. Why doesn't the state government publish their names and take action against them?" Chidambaram said in a post on X.Chidambaram said no one was protecting infiltrators and that they should be identified and dealt with according to law.He also asked why 13.3 crore names, apart from those of dead voters, had been deleted if there were three crore infiltrators."What about the persons (91-93%), among the deleted, who won their Appeals in West Bengal?

Are they infiltrators too?" Chidambaram said, tagging Nabin. The opposition has alleged that the Election Commission wrongfully deleted 13.3 crore names from electoral rolls during a special intensive revision. The BJP has maintained that the process was aimed at removing ineligible voters, while Chidambaram has sought details and legal action over Nabin's claim of three crore infiltrators.- Ends
