Based on the recommendations, the BPR & D has developed a one-year action plan for effective utilisation of beat level policing in the country. The focus of the cooperation would be to provide a framework for rationalisation of beat structures, active community engagement, generation and gainful use of local intelligence / information, integration of modern technology, monitoring systems and extensive capacity building, the release said. The collaboration was aimed at transforming policing into a service-oriented, highly responsive and efficient force.
The BPR&D would provide Puducherry Police the technical support for implementing the action plan, the release said.“The strategic collaboration towards strengthening beat-level policing is designed to foster closer trust between the community and the police force, ensuring safer and more secure neighbourhoods across the Union Territory,” the SSP said.
