A special grocery kit containing 10 essential items is being sold for ₹200 through seven cooperative sales outlets in non-corporation areas of Coimbatore district.The 1.45-kg kit contains 250 grams each of Bengal gram dal, green gram dal and tamarind; 150 grams each of coriander and garlic; 100 grams each of chilli, mustard and broken black gram dal; and 50 grams each of cumin and fennel seeds.The outlets selling the kits are located at Pallivasal Street in Annoor (98654 69606), Periyanayakanpalayam (LMW Cooperative Wholesale Store – 96558 54181), Vadugapalayam and Mahalingapuram in Pollachi (98422 25103 / 98657 89438), Valparai (90036 68050), Panchayat Office Road in Sulur (98426 64514) and Ginning Factory Road in Irukur (96558 54181).The initiative aims to make essential grocery items available at prices lower than the prevailing open market rates. The public have been urged to purchase the kits, which are intended to ensure quality and correct weight.
