Love, secrets and a carefully maintained disguise make for an unusual romantic equation in Love in Disguise. Starring Yim Si-wan and Seorina, the series explores what happens when identities become complicated and feelings enter the picture.

In an exclusive conversation with India Today, the actors opened up about working together for the first time, discovering unexpected things about themselves on set and stepping into roles that allowed them to explore a different side of their craft.This is the first time Si-wan and Seorina have come together to feature in a K-drama. Earlier, they briefly appeared together in a film titled Emergency Declaration.

This time around, however, the equation is different. For Si-wan, the experience went beyond the usual shared goal of delivering a good performance.

He credited Seorina with ensuring that he had fun while shooting for Love in Disguise.“Typically, when you’re on set with a co-star, it’s only natural that you have a shared goal, which is to put on the best performance possible and to pull this off as successfully as possible. But this time around, I think I was able to view everything from a much larger perspective, as in, how to find more fun and excitement and happiness in the production process, even though it’s very tough,” he told India Today.He also credited Seorina with helping him discover that lighter side of filmmaking. “I think Seorina is an actress who taught me how to have more fun on set, and I learned a lot from her.” For Seorina, the collaboration brought out a side of herself she had not quite anticipated.

Despite considering herself an independent person, she found herself leaning on Si-wan throughout the shoot. “I actually discovered something new about myself because I had such an excellent partner, Si-wan. I considered myself to be quite the independent person, but this time around on set, I found myself relying on Si-wan a lot.

I had so much trust and faith in him. I depended on him and relied on him so much, and asked him a lot of questions, and he was super helpful,” she exclaimed.While audiences often associate actors with the personalities they portray on screen, Si-wan is quick to point out that his real-life habits might be quite different from what viewers imagine.

Asked what fans might find surprising about him, the actor revealed that he is not quite the relentlessly hardworking, always-on-the-move person people might expect.“I don’t know exactly what image they have of me, but if I were to answer that question, I would like to say that compared to people’s expectations, I’m not exactly the busy bee type of person. I’m a homebody.

I like to stay at home. I like to sleep in bed as much as possible,” he shared.He added that people who meet him for the first time often find this difficult to believe. “But it turns out when I say this to people who I first meet, they find it hard to believe.

But in real life, I’m not as diligent as it seems on the screen,” the actor said with a laugh.Seorina, on the other hand, spoke about challenging expectations through her portrayal of Kang Jae-hee. The role gave her an opportunity to experiment with a male disguise while also fulfilling a long-standing wish to perform action sequences.“What I wanted to show through my portrayal of the character Kang Jae-hee this time around is, well first off, how the male disguise suits me really well.

I’m not sure if I’m supposed to say this out loud, but I wanted to prove that,” she cautiously asserted, adding, “I had only just dreamt of doing a lot of stunning action sequences, but this time around, it was a great opportunity to really fulfil my dream and show everybody how great Seorina is in action mode.”And what about India? Both actors expressed an interest in visiting the country, with Seorina keen to experience its culture beyond what she has heard about it.“I’d really like to visit India.

I’ve never been there, but both Si-wan and I love travelling, and I’d really like to experience the local culture in person. And I miss our fans in India so much,” she said.Si-wan, meanwhile, already has a destination in mind.

The actor revealed that Varanasi is high on his travel wish list, having heard plenty about the city.“The place that I really want to visit someday is Varanasi. I’ve heard so many great things about Varanasi, so I hope I can visit there quite soon.
