MANJUNATH While asking youth to be wealth creators and make contribution that helps country to reach the target $10,000 per capita income by 2047, Bengaluru South MP Tejaswi Surya asked youth not to fall into false propaganda by the Opposition that the country is not developing.During the ‘Yuva Samvad” interaction with college students, held as part of ‘Prajaprabhutva Ulisi Arajakate Alisi” campaign by the BJP in Mangaluru on Friday, Mr.

Surya said in a recent report of the World Bank stated that nearly 50 crore individuals have come out of poverty in the country in the past one decade. China took about 40 years to reach this mark.

The impact of poverty alleviation, Mr. Surya said, was that a poor man can now purchase new clothes for family members three times a year, compared to once a year a decade ago.The country’s GDP, he said was growing at a rate between 7% and 8%.

This means job opportunities were increasing and there were more investments coming into the country. Now the per capita income was $2,800, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of reaching per capita income of $10,000 by 2047, which will take India among the world’s top economic powers. “Unlike pre-independence where youth had to lay down their lives, the youth now have to live for the growth of the nation,” he said.

The MP called upon youth to be wealth creators, provide employment and contribute to country’s growth.Criticising the Congress and other Opposition parties for falsely showing the Election Commission, the Supreme Court and other constitutional institutions in bad light, Mr. Surya said the Cockroach Janata Party was raising issues that the ‘rejected’ Opposition parties have been raising.

The youth should know whether an issue is right or wrong, and not fall prey to the false propoganda by Congress and other Opposition parties. First, the Congress spoke about EVM hacking and now it is falsely campaigning against the Special Intensive Revision, he said.To have direct connect with today’s youth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is now interacting more on the social media.

The government should be judged by what it builds rather than what is gives, Mr. Surya said while criticising the State government for increasing the prices of milk, milk products and KSRTC bus fare.Dakshina Kannnada MP Capt.

Brijesh Chowta and Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyasa Kamath also spoke.
