It will facilitate the early assessment of conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, and spinal disorders. Kauvery Hospital Vadapalani, in collaboration with Hexaware Technologies, launched a Mobile Orthopaedic and Spine Care Unit, as part of a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to extend specialised orthopaedic and spine care to rural and remote communities.

The unit is equipped with a digital X-ray system, which is provided with an onboard reader and Bone Mineral Density (BMD) assessment facilities. The initiative places special emphasis on senior citizens, people with mobility limitations, as well as those facing challenges in travelling to hospitals for medical consultations and investigations.

It will facilitate the early assessment of conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, and spinal disorders. Digital X-rays will help doctors evaluate bone and joint conditions, fractures, and spinal abnormalities, while BMD assessments will help identify individuals who are at risk of low bone density and osteoporosis, according to a press release.
