Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has updated the theatrical release schedule for his highly anticipated project Spirit, featuring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri. Originally slated for December 2026, the feature will now debut during the Diwali holiday season in 2027, aligning directly with Nitesh Tiwari's Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ramayana Part 2.

Vanga offered fans a glimpse of the updated schedule on social media, indicating that a fresh promotional poster showcasing Prabhas would accompany the announcement. Shortly after, he confirmed the official worldwide premiere for October 29, 2027.

This scheduling places Spirit in direct competition with the second installment of the Ramayana epic. Producer Namit Malhotra and director Nitesh Tiwari previously locked in November 5 for the release of their mythological drama Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, coinciding with Diwali celebrations. That project features Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.

Spirit marks Vanga's follow-up project to his commercially successful 2023 action drama Animal, which starred Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna and grossed over ₹900 crore globally. Following initial announcements in 2021, principal photography for Spirit commenced in November 2025. Although an initial March 2027 window was targeted, the schedule has now shifted to October.

The ensemble cast for Spirit includes Vivek Oberoi, Kanchana, and Aishwarya Desai alongside the primary leads, while early promotional insights characterize the narrative around a disgraced law enforcement officer. Production duties are managed by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar, and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga under the banners of T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures.
